I’ve been told that some people have asked why our web site has a “dark” feel to it. I’ve thought a lot about that since everything on the site is what I feel like God has called me to put on online. The answer to the question is simple, actually. We live in a dark place and we’re called to shine for the glory of the Lord.
Lam. 3:6 – He has made me live in dark places, like those who have been dead a long time.
2 Peter 1:19 – All of this makes us even more certain that what the prophets said is true. So you should pay close attention to their message, as you would to a lamp shining in some dark place. You must keep on paying attention until daylight comes and the morning star rises in your hearts.
John 1:5 – And the light appears in darkness, and the darkness apprehended it not.
Road to Revelation is a Christian ministry; our beliefs are Christian, our lifestyles are Christian, our devotionals are Christian and our lyrics are Christian. But as a band, our sound is rock and in reality, rock music has a certain image that people expect to find in their musicians. While some Christian musicians feel like they’re only called to minister to those who are already saved and others feel like their calling is to minister to the lost, there are some of us who believe that God has called us to do both. Road to Revelation is a band that falls into the “both” category. In order to be accepted by the lost in the world, we have to look the part. Our hope and expectation is that those who are already a part of the Body of Christ will use the eyes of their hearts rather than their physical eyes to keep them from judging the image. You may remember Paul talking about something similar in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. He said …
For though I am free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law; to those who are outside the law, as outside the law (though not outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ), that I might gain those who are outside the law. To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the Gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
So don’t let the “look” fool you. Use your heart instead of your eyes to see past the image and into the heart of the who we are.
