Thoughts For The Future

Last night, our 11-year-old daughter Jordan, took a step that we all face at different points in our lives … one door closing and another one opening. Last night was her graduation from elementary school to middle school and while to many of us adults, that may not seem like all that big of a deal, for her and her classmates, the event signified their first transition toward being adults. If you pause for a moment, I’m sure you can remember what you felt when that was the next step in your life, back in the day.

Today many of us are facing new doors as the climate of the world is forcing us to change directions just to be able to keep paying our bills. We are having to make new or different choices as we face new challenges and hurdles in our jobs, marriages, and personal lives and it can be a little daunting to say the least. So today I want to share with you something that was written for Jordan’s class by her teachers that I think is really relevant with the times we all are facing or may soon be facing.

“Your success is not a matter of idle chance; it’s a matter of making the right choices. It’s not something you wait for, but rather something you’ll achieve with effort. Things won’t turn up in this world until you turn them up. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be; because you only have one life and one chance to do all the things you want in life. With an idea, perseverance, and the right tools, you can meet any challenge. Let your instincts, your intellect, and your heart guide you.”

I want to add something to this because I feel it must be included here. All the above I agree with 100% but we must also trust and have faith that when one door shuts, God will see to it that another opens and it will be the right one for us as we move into our New Tomorrow.
