No Passion No PowerJames 4:7,8.....submit yourselves then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.I am going to borrow from Bishop TD Jakes and talk about "Passion" today. Can you think of some things in your on life that you are passionate about? Things that even through the hustle and bustle of work, kids, bills etc..that really move you inside? For me it's music. It surrounds me on so many levels. It's one of those things that manages to to find its way into whatever I'm doing and God is using that passion to lead me into His purpose for me. (See John 17:18/Acts20:24). This, through his mercy and grace and great plan for me, gives me power. Here is an equation that God showed me ... (Passion+Purpose=Power). Pretty simple huh? But, in just like in a math equation, if one of the steps is off, the answer will be off. When there is no passion there is no power even if you see your purpose. The enemy will attempt either to steal your passion or to smother it beneath the fear of failure or rejection. Without passion you will become passive, unable to achieve the purpose God has for your life. Think for a minute - we never die with a twinkle in our eyes or a vision in our hearts. When we meet a visionary we recognize them by their sense of expectancy, their confidence, their ability to see what no one else can. They can bounce back from adversity and can hang in there through the tough times. If satan can steal your passion he will gain your power and keep you from your purpose. The enemy is trying to steal something from you that you cannot see. Anytime the invisible is stolen you may not even notice that it's gone at first. Here are some examples...
See the pattern? Enthusiasm leaks out of life just like air seeping from a tire. The thief siphons vitality from you like a tiny cut flattens a tire. Suddenly you realize how gradually your energy has left you. The only solution lies in the absolute, committed guarding of the heart. (See Proverbs 4:23) Our greast treasure isn't our bank accounts It isn't our stocks, bonds or fancy cars or material gain. Our greast treasure is in the strength of the passion that is locked in the deepest places of our hearts. Out of the heart flows the issues of life. We can't spend rest of our lives trying to protect ourselves from the struggles of life. They are unavoidable. All people face struggles and the seasons of life regardless of their economical, spiritual or sociological persuasions!!! If you become intimidated by that fact, it will cause you to live in an emotional incubator - Not "Insulated" but "Isolated". Having declared that, we must no longer focus on protecting ourselves; but we must be willing to live and to risk and to dare!!!! Stay vigilant and refuse to be overwhelmed. Wrap your Godly virtue tightly around your heart like a warm coat on a winters night. It is the well-spring that gives you the strength to keep on living and giving and will propel you to fulfill your Purpose and thus satisfy your Passion....
